After a delicious breakfast on board, your journey into ancient history continues with a private guided tour of Luxor’s West Bank—the land of royal tombs and timeless monuments.
Start with a visit to the Valley of the Kings, where the pharaohs of the New Kingdom chose to be buried in secret tombs carved deep into the Theban cliffs. Between 1570 and 1050 BC, this sacred valley became the eternal resting place of kings, including the legendary Tutankhamun.
Next, visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, a striking structure built into the cliffs of Deir el-Bahari. This temple reflects the vision and legacy of Egypt’s most successful female pharaoh, standing as a masterpiece of symmetry and architectural elegance.
Before returning to your cruise, pause at the towering Colossi of Memnon, two monumental statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III that have watched over the West Bank since 1350 BC.
After your tour, return to the cruise ship and begin sailing south toward Edfu.
Overnight: Onboard the Cruise | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
Begin your day with a nourishing breakfast before visiting one of Egypt’s most well-preserved ancient sanctuaries: the Temple of Horus in Edfu. Dedicated to the falcon-headed god Horus, this temple is celebrated for its massive pylons, intricate carvings, and remarkably intact structures—offering a glimpse into the might and spirituality of the Ptolemaic era.
Return to the ship and set sail once again, heading for Kom Ombo, a rare double temple perched dramatically on a bend of the Nile. Unique in its design, the temple honors two gods: Sobek, the crocodile god, and Horus the Elder. Built between 180 and 47 BC, this site includes a fascinating crocodile museum with mummified reptiles on display.
After your explorations, unwind back on board with lunch and dinner as you continue cruising toward Aswan. Let the serene rhythm of the river and the shifting desert landscape carry you into the evening.
Overnight: Onboard the Cruise | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
Rise early to a delightful breakfast and begin your exploration of Aswan’s most captivating sites:
Your first stop is the Aswan High Dam, a marvel of modern engineering that changed the course of Egypt’s economy and reshaped the landscape of the Nile Valley. Built between 1960 and 1970, it remains one of Egypt’s proudest achievements.
Next, visit the Unfinished Obelisk, a massive monument left abandoned in its quarry due to a natural crack. Commissioned by Queen Hatshepsut, it offers a rare insight into ancient stone-carving techniques—and had it been completed, it would have been the largest obelisk ever erected.
Finally, sail by motorboat to the magical Temple of Philae, a sanctuary dedicated to the goddess Isis. Located on Agilkia Island, this temple complex is a masterpiece of Greco-Roman and Egyptian art, adorned with intricate reliefs that bring to life the myth of Osiris and Isis.
After your adventure, return to the cruise for a final evening of relaxation under the starlit sky of Aswan.
Overnight: Onboard the Cruise | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
After an early breakfast, disembark and join a pre-arranged convoy departing around 4:00 AM for a once-in-a-lifetime visit to Abu Simbel—a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Built by Ramses II in the 13th century BC, these colossal temples are carved directly into the mountainside and were relocated in a daring UNESCO-led rescue operation to prevent submersion after the construction of the High Dam. The Great Temple honors Ramses himself, while the smaller temple is a tribute to his beloved queen, Nefertari.
Enjoy approximately two hours at the site before returning to Aswan by early afternoon.
We sincerely hope your journey with us was as extraordinary as the temples you've explored. Thank you for choosing this once-in-a-lifetime Nile cruise experience—we look forward to welcoming you again.
